Bamboo leaf tea has a lovely light-medium body and a fresh and slightly lemon taste with a hint of pepper. Legend has it that Xi Shi, one of the four great beauties of ancient China, drank bamboo leaf tea every day for a silky, smooth skin and a robust health. It is said that Xi Shi was so beautiful that, while she leant over her balcony to look at fish in the pond, the fish were so dazzled by her beauty that they would forget to swim and would sink from the surface. Tea brewing: into a warmed teapot, put 2 heaped teaspoons of bamboo leaves. Bring freshly drawn water to the boil then pour over the tea. Steep for 3-5 mintues. Drink without adding anything.
