Our Beginning Ragan & Christi Were Married Their Sophomore Year At Texas State At Age 20. They Graduated Together And Both Received Their Bba (Marketing) Degrees In 1987 From Texas State. Ragan & Christi Bond Got Started In The Coffee Roasting Business Almost By Accident. After Ragan Spent Fifteen Years As A Commodities Trader In The Fast-Paced Energy Sector, The Bonds Moved Their Family From Houston To Small-Town Brenham, Texas. In 2001, Christi Bond And Her Sister Opened A Small Coffee Shop Called Main Street Coffee & Trading/Independence Coffee Co. Shortly Thereafter, Ragan Started Roasting Coffee For Their Shop In His Garage. The First Year, Ragan Roasted 1,800 Lbs. Of Coffee On A 10 Lb. Ambex Roaster. Our Growth In 2018, Christi And Ragan Opened A Specialty Coffee And Tea Retail Destination In Brenham, Texas, Called Black Truck ’48 Coffee & Tea Market. The Name Pays Homage To The 1948 Ford Black Truck The Bonds Originally Used For Coffee Delivery And Is Pictured On Independence Coffee Bags.
