RAW CACAO: The cacao we use is sourced from Ecuador; the country's climate produces some of the best tasting cacao in the world. Most chocolate is made by roasting cacao at high heat, which could damage the heat-sensitive cacao polyphenols (super-healthy plant compounds). At Ombar, our cacao goes through a low-temp process, meaning it stays choc-full of all the goodness that nature intended! Plus, cacao contains Manganese, which means that every one of our bars is a source of Manganese too
ORGANIC & Fair Trade: Our chocolate is certified organic by the Organic Food Federation, which means that no damaging chemicals are involved in the production of our cacao or other ingredients. The cacao and coconut sugar we use are both certified fair trade by Fair for Life; our cacao is sourced directly from farmer's co-ops in Ecuador, and we're proud to pay more for it than even the fair trade recommended price. We think that's only right!
